Watch as we resurface 2” thick reclaimed pine to create a Live Edge Coffee Table using Amana Tool® Insert Carbide CNC Surfacing Router Bit and Saw Blades.
Andy Glass from Glass Impressions found this beautiful reclaimed pine leftover from a old log home job site that was never used. Once back at the workshop, he trims, planes and glues up the wood and places it on his Shopbot PRS Alpha 5 x 8' CNC machine.
Andy uses this Heavy Duty 3 Flute, 2-1/2" Diameter Insert Carbide CNC Spoil board Router Bit item no. RC-2255 from Amana Tool to flatten the slab.
This industrial router bit features solid carbide insert knives with four cutting edges that allow users to rotate the knife when one corner becomes dull.
Unique features of this tool is the capability of fine adjustments to depth of cut allowing for removal thin layers of material, less than 0.001" per pass as well as removing large layers of material, up to 1/4” per pass. Amazing! Additionally, the tool has a unique chamfer corner insert design used to create flawless surfaces.
Final dimension of the coffee table are 30 x 50 x 2".
