Watch as we carve this out-of-the-world 3D Alien Zoo project from Ren Shape 473 Lighter Density Polyurethane Fixture Board using Amana Tool®'s CNC 2D/3D Carving Tapered Ball Nose and Extra-Long Reach Flat Bottom ZrN Coated Router Bits/End Mills no's 46284 and 46590.
Ren Shape 473 is a Lighter Density Polyurethane Fixture Board designed for CNC machining which offers a lighter density than traditional fixture boards.
Feed Rate (IPM): 150
Speed Rate (RPM): 18,000
Chip Load Per Tooth: 0.004"
The 1/4" diameter Extra-Long Reach Solid Carbide Spiral 3D Carving End Mill removes the bulk of the fixture board (also known as tooling board) and roughs out the pattern while the 1/8" diameter Solid Carbide Spiral 3D Carving Ball Nose Router Bit creates the detail in the Alien Zoo by carving into smaller areas, revealing the final 3D artwork.
Once CNC routed, the Alien Zoo was primed then spray painted with Stylin Basecoats Midnight Purple Killer Cans spray paint and clear coated.
